Jennifer Hudson lets loose in "I Can't Describe (The Way I Feel)"

Posted by Kevin Z. Rong Friday, January 24, 2014 0 comments

Jennifer Hudson returns with a glossy music video for her newest 70s stylized uptempo ballad, "I Can't Describe (The Way I Feel)." The T.I.-assisted, Pharrell-produced 70's-influenced jazz-soul uptempo ballad is the first offering from Hudson's upcoming yet-untitled third studio album, expected on RCA this winter. Hudson has spent a lot of her time onstage fiercely performing the single, which is reminiscent of 70s throwback dance tracks and the new video transfers every bit of that ferocity in four minutes with feel-good sounds by taking Hudson fans back to the disco.
The Oscar and Grammy-winning singer, who doesn't wait long to explain herself despite the title for "I Can't Describe (The Way I Feel)," "It feels so good it hurts." Musically, it is an uptempo 1970s-inspired dance ballad that incorporates elements of disco music. Considering she had the "Blurred Lines" combo of Pharrell and T.I., the sensual track keeps up the throwback feel that marks a few of Pharrell's other recent collaborations. Excited about the new track, the former 'American Idol' contestant says, "Working with a visionary like Pharrell was a really special experience for me. He is one of the most talented musicians of our time and I couldn't be more proud of what we did together."
The Weight Watchers spokeswoman has been working with Timbaland, Pharrell, and R. Kelly on her upcoming album. "Some of the songs have a nice old school swag to them, but I think people will be very pleasantly surprised with this album 'cause it's about the mood and the groove and real music," she recently shared with Yahoo! Music of the follow-up to 2011's "I Remember Me," will have an old school feel, while revealing that the new record pays homage to Evelyn's 1981 hit "I'm in Love" and Rufus and Chaka's 1979 smash "Do You Love What You Feel."
In the Anthony Mandler-directed clip, the former 'American Idol' star shows off her svelte figure and gets her sexy on in a red bustier and sunglasses while busting out some choreographed moves (by Fatima Robinson) with her shirtless male crew. T.I. also shows up dressed in a tux. His swagger keeps in line with the coolness of his verse, as he stays calm during a peep show. Hudson told Huffington Post about new video: "It's a different side of me. I'm not going to say I discovered anything, but I'm introducing a new side of me."

Jennifer Hudson addresses the ladies should "Think Like A Man"

Showing off her latest musical accomplishment, Jennifer Hudson who appears to be more relaxed and in better shape than ever, has just released a music video for her new club banger "Think Like a Man." The "American Idol" alum caught the attention of two gentlemen Kevin Hart and Ne-Yo, but she falls the latter, along with “The Bawse” Rick Ross to help Hudson tell the story of a black woman's real-life relationship drama who taking control of her life.
The 30-year-old 'Where You At' singer portrays a strong independent woman in Chris Robinson-directed new video, which is a teaser for the forthcoming new flick based on the comedian and syndicated radio host Steve Harvey's self-help relationship book "Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man." The new film, set to open wide in U.S. theaters on April 20, follows four men who have their love lives turned upside down as their ladies begin to take advice.
Hudson hits us with some Santigold-esque notes with Ne-Yo on the upbeat track while Rick Ross comes in rappin a few bars for the hustlerz. The film "Think Like A Man" stars Kelly Rowland, Taraji P. Heson, Michael Ealy, Morris Chestnut, and singer Chris Brown, while the video features Kevin Hart trying hard to win the heart of Hudson by repeatedly asked her out, but decides she'd rather spend more one-on-one time with Ne-Yo, who steps in as the smooth criminal. Nothing groundbreaking, but it definitely drives the message home.
Hudson addresses the ladies on this one and advises them that should Act Like A Lady But "Think Like A Man." She shows off dance moves around an office-themed set with a gang of secretary backup dancers, while Ne-Yo and Rick Ross work their magic on the track. Robinson describes that the concept comes from the need for women to be more empowered: "The concept is derived from the film and the thought process is that women need to always act like a lady and be a woman, but think like a man, take up for yourself and be strong."

Jennifer Hudson Shows Off Moves In "No One Gonna Love You"

Jennifer Hudson admits to her lover that she has been through some things but not to hold it against her as she presents her just-released new video for her latest piano driven soulful single, "No One Gonna Love You." The second single from her sophomore LP "I Remember Me," which sports a more contemporary feel than her eponymous debut in 2008, touting feel-good songs about life, love, and happiness. "I'm excited about this album because it's almost like a renewal for me, reflected through the chapters of my life," comments Hudson who may be a part-time author and a successful actress, but she is a singer at heart.
Chronicling what seems like a bittersweet love story, the album kicks off with this optimistic Rich Harrison production, which builds from a vamping piano ditty to a full-fledged anthem. On her new lovesick tune, Hudson looks back on relationships and promises that in spite of the blunders of the past. The track shows off Hudson's strong vocal talents and personality as she tells the man in her life why she's the woman for him. The Grammy and Academy Award winner opens her first musical offering since lost her mother in late 2008 tragedy with this song, which begins with a major understatement: "I've been through some things."
The 29-year-old singer doesn't look any worse for the emotional wear in the Diana Martel-directed video. Hudson showcases her wide range of talents in a white tank, tuxedo vest and flattering black trousers. But a killer video wardrobe isn't the only thing that's got Hudson singing, her new turn marks the first time she's gotten to move to her music. "This is the first time that I've had the chance to dance," she told Rap-Up. "It was probably the part I anticipated the most and I actually had a lot of fun. I thought I accomplished it. You be the judge."
While the visuals for "No One Gonna Love You" don't exactly start off like a Cinderella story, they surely end on that note. "You gonna be on time tonight?" Hudson asks her man, who answers back clueless, "Tonight? What's tonight?" While Hudson deals with the all-too-common universal forgetfulness that is men remembering their anniversary, her beau is actually one-up on her, planning something a little more special than just a romantic dinner for two. And while Hudson sings that she "doesn't mind you putting up a little fight," she looks ready to let her man have it when she gets home, until he surprises her with a diamond ring on her finger in the end.

Jennifer Hudson Questions The Love In Her Life "Where You At"

Soulful diva Jennifer Hudson unveiled her brand new music video late Thursday for "Where You At," the ballad is the lead single from her upcoming sophomore studio album, "I Remember Me," is due in stores March 22nd. A whole new Hudson returns to her roots and braves the cold and windy Chicago winter in her just released music video, which is her first to premiere since the 2009 hit "If This Isn't Love." The newly svelte singer looks as gorgeous and serene as ever, even though the song may be a heartbreaking ode to lost love.
The soaring vocal track was penned by R. Kelly, and produced by Harvey Mason Jr. The 29-year-old R&B singer and actress said: "This song to me is like what I always wanted to do vocally. As an aspiring writer, just the subject of it means so much to me. It's simple and it's something we say every day." Hudson questions the love in her life who made "false promises" singing "painted a picture for me but there was no frame." The entertainer definitely puts herself into the equation on the video and really brings home the point of the song.
The American Idol alum shows off her fresh sleek figure in her new video, takes place in her native Chicago where she experienced personal tragedy but also got the inspiration for her sophomore album. Not too much is new about this Anthony Mandler-directed video, and its storyline sees Hudson making a return to Chicago. In the video, she constantly ponders where her unreliable significant other is, and concedes to his broken promises. She bears through the cold, a likely clue as to how she feels now that she's alone. However, undeniably, there is a new air about Hudson — an unspoken confidence, and beauty within as she moves wistfully through each scene. It's a new dawn, a new day, a new life, and she certainly looks and sounds good.
The singer's career has taken her places she would never dreamed of, "I'm excited about this album because it's almost like a renewal for me, reflected through the chapters of my life," she said. "I've called it 'I Remember Me' because of the journey I've been on. I've learned that life constantly surprises you, no matter your plans. My fans have been so loyal, I feel like they have been on this journey with me and I can't wait for them to hear the new album." Hudson will present at the 83rd Oscar Annual Academy Awards Sunday.
