OneRepublic just premiered a monumentally inspiring music video for "I Lived," which tells the story of Bryan Warnecke, a teenager boy from Colorado who is living with and fighting cystic fibrosis. The song comes to a climax when OneRepublic takes the stage at the state's adored venue Red Rocks to perform the uplifting tune. Warnecke, who is a major fan of OneRepublic's music, will get the ultimate prize by being flown from his small town to witness live one of the most important concerts in OneRepublic's latest North American tour.
"With every broken bone/ I swear I lived." That lyric stands on its own with its empowering notes. The track co-written by Ryan Tedder in collaboration of Noel Zancanella is the fifth official single taken from the Colorado band's third studio album, "Native." Instead of going the traditional route, OneRepublic took the opportunity to give "I Lived" a real message with its music video by using their single to share Warnecke's inspiring story and aspirations that shed new light on the uplifting single off "Native."
Bryan's been living with this disease that ravages his lungs and makes it feel like he's "breathing through a straw," for 15 years. It's terrifying and heartbreaking, but it's not getting in Warnecke's way as he continues to do the things he loves. Drawing from the words in the song, Warnecke says, "I believe in living every second to its fullest, taking the jump without fear of the fall and taking the pain while giving it my all." He adds, "My dream is to become the first person with CF to compete in the Olympics as the goalie for the USA hockey team. The CF Foundation and OneRepublic are helping to keep that dream alive."
The band filmed the video in early-September with director Noble Jones in Morrison, CO, during the final stop of OneRepublic's "Native" Summer Tour. In the video, the band wanted to highlight someone who embodies the spirit of living and achieving in the face of great adversity. After a brief introduction of his disease, Warnecke shows OneRepublic's fans in the video photographs and footage of how he's grown up dealing with this unfair burden, but refuses to let that get in the way of his dreams. What a moving video! It just fits the whole concept of the song in a way I didn't expect.

OneRepublic debut indescribable music video for their brand new single, the Adele-esque "Love Runs Out," features African-inspired dancing, fireworks and multiple Ryan Tedders. According to frontman, the hard-hitting pop-soul song was originally going to be the first single from OneRepublic's third studio album, "Native," but he couldn't quite finish the chorus and eventually shelved the swamp-rock anthem altogether. The hitmaker happily found the time to fix it up for the deluxe edition of the album, and it's currently shooting up iTunes.

This catchy rock tune is the follow up to OneRepublic's "Counting Stars." Tedder ahead of the band's Colorado appearance he told us of "Love Runs Out," "I put on headphones, and I didn't have any of the verse lyrics really fleshed out. I walked through Amsterdam for two and a half hours, and I would type in my iPhone when a line or a word would come up." He added. "It took me about a year, and we finished it in Paris."

"Love Runs Out" features their classic singing talent with the promise to do anything for you, "till the love runs out," that is, until forever. The Meaning of "Love Runs Out" is love being the maximum. OneRepublic promises to be "your man," "your light, your match, your burning flame" And they want to swear by the most important thing in life, "if you ever doubt" the sincerity of that promise. They list all the things anyone could swear by "for God, for fate, For love, for hate, For gold, and rust, For diamonds, and dust." OneRepublic swears by love - loving "till the love runs out." Since love is endless, their promise is eternal. The song is just about emotions, and a fleeting promise, nothing else.

Packed with crazy visuals, the Sophie Muller-directed clip is a highly conceptual affair filmed entirely on on a soundstage with a green screen in front of some sort of saturated Instagram filter backdrop of moving clouds in a fake desert, a plastic sea, a troupe of traditional dancers and some frantic tambourine work. The band dance and sing with horses, big drums, and Tedder plays the tambourine, cavorting with an elderly lady holding down the piano line, and a group of tribal dancers performing on the sand. Flashes of images and symbols run through the video - it doesn't have a plot and the treatment doesn't quite suit the song, but everybody represents something to give a meaning to the video.

OneRepublic have premiered a music video for their newest single, "Something I Need," the fourth single from alternative rock band's latest third studio album, "Native," which is refreshing and catchy, finds frontman Ryan Tedder and his bandmates bringing all of their considerable musical prowess to bear in the service of these massive, melodic, state-of-the-art pop songs. Consequently, "Native" is a major player in a growing revolution for musical accountability in pop music and a release that should have people excited for the future of pop once again.
OneRepublic are always incredibly light, catchy, and get stuck in my head for days. "Something I Need," is no exception. Co-written by Tedder and Benny Blanco, "Something I Need" celebrates the fact that even if a couple loses everything, they still have each other ("Honey, you don't need to be afraid/If we got nothing, we got us"). "Something I Need" says, "Woke me up right after 2:00/Stayed awake and stared at you/So I wouldn't lose my mind." That song also includes a line about getting drunk to cope with life's stresses: "Last night I drank too much/Call it our temporary crutch."
Beginning with a revelation about only living once, "Something I Need" ends with the line: “If we only die once, I wanna die with/ if we only live once, I wanna live with you." finally stating the answer to the question of with whom exactly he wants to live and, by extension, die. It's absolutely predictable, but that's beside the point. "Something I Need" is cheesy, emotionally barren, and clichéd. It is one of my favorites songs on the album, although it had to grow on me, I knew "Something I Need" would be picked as official single at some point.

"The video for 'Something I Need' will hands down be the craziest video we've done," Tedder and his bandmates said of the music video last month. "And funniest. And hopefully best. Time for a risk." The group take an interesting and comical approach for the video. Directed by Cameron Buddy, the four-minute clip sees an awkward and ordinary man dealing with his bad luck man after finding himself attracted to a gorgeous woman. The man eventually gets close to the woman after being attacked several times by a vicious hound infected with rabies and a gospel choir. It's cute and entertaining.

OneRepublic have just released the music video for their new single, "Counting Stars," the third single from American rock band's latest third studio album, "Native," which begins with "Counting Stars," a song of hope in big dreams with hypnotic yet extremely energetic vibe. It's incredibly catchy, driven at first by an acoustic guitar and followed by a figurative bass drop with synths. "Native" doesn't stray too far from this upbeat path and its songs all talk about feeling good through a relationship and doing everything to keep it alive.
The uplifting tunes, "Counting Stars," was written, and produced by frontman Ryan Tedder, who brought the high energy back with his hard-charging and countrified take on "Counting Stars," which is a song that sounds like OneRepublic's attempt at indie folk - acoustic guitars, shouted harmonies, Lumineers-inspired "heys" and Mumford-like builds, sure, but the soaring pop melodies, too. "Counting Stars" is definitely one of the best songs on "Native." At least Tedder recycles some of the bluesy swagger for "Counting Stars," easily their most interesting tune since "Apologize."
"We put 'Counting Stars' first because that was the song that consolidated and explained the eclectic nature of the album," said Tedder. "Obviously I love big pop melodies, but it's not that simple. If you don't like 'Counting Stars,' you won't likely be into the rest of the album. That song is my personal favorite, if not one of my two favorites." Sure enough, it's an extremely effective and infectious song with Tedder's polished pop hijacking a folk song, and a little R&B attitude in there as well. It's the new album's most instantly likable song, and is also the album's biggest departure from OneRepublic's previous work.
The video was shot in the basement of an old church in New Orleans and directed by James Lees. While the Colorado band performs downstairs in a run-down building, a therapy-cum-protestant-church-service is going on upstairs above them. As the epic new single reaches its climax, so does the ritualistic gathering upstairs, become ever more and more psychedelic through a combo of wild dancing and loud music. Well, it's all fun and ritualism until the wooden floorboards give way and some enthusiastic "gatherer" falls through the floor ceiling and lands butt first in front of a band of rockers just after they finish singing. It's epic though and just another day in the life of OneRepublic.

Colorado pop/rock band OneRepublic are still riding high off their last single "Feel Again," and have unveiled the music video to its new electro-ethereal single, "If I Lose Myself," which is the lead single off of OneRepublic's upcoming third studio offering, "Native," slated for a March 26th release via Interscope.
"If I Lose Myself," presents a very upbeat tempo and it blends a fine mix of the group's signature pop/rock beats plus some nice dance/electronic elements, was recorded in Santorini, Greece, a beautiful island south of Athens in the Mediterranean Sea. It starts off with a slow, haunting vibe, which quickly picks up as lead vocalist Ryan Tedder gets into the poetic lyrics of the new single, while electronic keyboard and percussion tunes do their thing in the background. The track then shifts into a David Guetta-sounding pattern of dance and pop rhythms as Tedder sings the catchy hook of the song.
The electro-inspired song is actually about Tedder's fear of flying, but it's also about living in the moment, which is thankfully the direction the band went for the video. "The original concept [for the video] was borrowing from the opening scene of Garden State-the plane's going down and all the oxygen masks drop out and everyone's going crazy. Even though it sounds like this euphoric, 'let's go crazy tonight' song, it's a bit morbid; it's about going down in an airplane," Tedder told MTV News.
The new video for "If I Lose Myself" certainly isn't morbid. It is a jubilant, vibrant thing, a clip that celebrates the endless possibilities of a Saturday night, the unbridled spirit of youth and the power of a really killer party. The Michael Muller-directed clip follows a group of adolescents on a scavenger hunt in downtown Los Angeles to find where the band is having their next secret gig, and it really showcases the kind of band that OneRepublic really is: a fun band that has more to give than just hype and good looks.

Every time it seems like OneRepublic might be becoming old news, they come back with another uplifting video for new melodically lush track, "Feel Again," the lead single off their forthcoming as-yet-untitled third studio album due out by the end of 2012. The uplifting video is the perfect accompaniment to the song, and OneRepublic leads us through an electrifying light show in the after-dark visuals.
Colorado rockers have been a tad quiet as of late, but they find a way to "Feel Again" on their latest single, an up-tempo track, whose sales will, in part, benefit Save the Children's Every Beat Matters campaign. According to the organization's website, Frontman Ryan Tedder actually wrote "Feel Again" by drawing on recordings of children's heartbeats for inspiration. "'Feel Again’ was inspired by the heartbeats of children in remote villages where children are in need of life-saving care,” says OneRepublic’s record label, Interscope Records.
With its urgent hand-clapping and swelling vocal hooks, Tedder sings of a love that's revived him, transforming from 'a lonely soul' to a man who is able to love again. Tedder typically gets most of the attention, but "Feel Again" reveals the entire group's contributions, from the background harmonies to the big drums. Though "Feel Again" is far from original, the optimistic message and those 'woo-ooh-ooh' chants are hard to resist. There are strings of neon lights and acoustic instruments that light up, and when Tedder sings, strings of light come out of his mouth.
Amid all the lights, Tedder is able to "feel again," and finds his love, the one who has rescued from being a lonely soul, and who turns on his heart light, literally. It's a festival of lights. The Tim Nackashi-directed after-dark video was filmed in San Francisco, and it opens with the frontman alone looking at the horizon at dusk stumbling across a bright orb that leads him deep into the woods where he finds people just celebrating, dancing and in a care-free mood as lights, and more lights enchant the place.

American rock band OneRepublic just released a brand new music video for their latest single "Good Life," which appears on their sophomore album, "Waking Up" released a year ago. The video was filmed in Italy and "Good Life" provides an upbeat Celtic balance by finding happiness in a foreign land. The smooth tenor vocals from self-proclaimed "genreless" band's frontman Ryan Tedder just lead this one in every way.
"Good life" is a positive, upbeat and very energetic powerful song, which gives us hope. It has an up-tempo feel-good vibe that is difficult to dislike. simple but brain-burrowing! This track is quite the opposite than others in album, highlighting some of the good times the band has experienced since their success. But the track and sentiment is not pompous, boastful, or insincere, but honest and almost serves as an invitation to join in on the fun and the good life. It's about appreciating life, and temporarily restores some faith, with its harmonizing vocals and ambient backing. "Good Life" pairs a cheery, whistling melody with thudding drums, handclaps, and acoustic guitars, and its verses demonstrate that Tedder is a surprisingly agile vocalist when he isn't trying to be Bono. But even that song's simple pleasures eventually get crowded out by overdubs and electronic squiggles. "Good Life" is most likely my favorite cut on "Waking Up." The song's structure really catches my ear, as do the lyrics.
Despite the fact that OneRepublic have left "Apologize" behind, they have not ignored influences from the song's collaborator, Tedder's mentor Timbaland. The ramped up drums that kick off "Good Life" all point toward good lessons learned at his side. The new set, "Waking Up" finds the band turning out irresistible instrumentals and ultra-catchy vocal chants that enliven its radio-friendly rock sound. Tedder defends his in-demand songwriting abilities. He's more optimistic on "Good Life," an uplifting pop gem complete with whistles and lighthearted marching drums.
"The toughest thing to do is write a hit song and the easiest thing to do is act like a rock band," says Tedder. "But we had a hit song before we had an album and we can't pull off the 'rock god' thing. We do everything backwards. This song "Good Life" always makes me feel like there's never a reason to be sad ever again. The hope and energy in this song, reminds me that there's so much to be thankful for, especially coupled with this homemade video. It's carefree, fun and just full of life and happiness. It recognizes that things in life don't always go as planned, but that through it all you can enjoy the good life. Maybe OneRepublic doesn't do everything backwards after all. Perhaps this is one band that has it exactly right.

American pop rock band from Colorado, OneRepublic have finally unveiled the third version of music video directed by Chris Sims for the second single "Secrets" from band's latest second studio album, "Waking Up." It follows a girl who is waiting for her love interest in a restaurant. A live performance scene, featured on the previously-premiered clip, is also included in it. That means the random movie scenes have been replaced by slightly less random scenes that actually involve some of the band members, but the rest of the video is the same.
The music video's first appearance on German TV was on October 16, 2009. It shows the band playing their instruments and Lead singer Ryan Tedder singing. Furthermore, it features scenes from the film "Zweiohrküken." There is also a second version of the video, which was actually a promo for the premiere of the sixth season of TV series "Lost." This version has takes from the original video, with the band playing on a studio, mixed with scenes from the series. "We used strings and some organic hip hop drums. Probably the most fun to play in our set as well," bassist Brent Kutzle commented on the song.
The string-heavy ballad song rocketed up the German and Austrian airplay charts and as of October 27 has hit No.1 on the iTunes chart in Germany. The song was released in the US iTunes Store on November 3, 2009. The song has had moderate success, staying at the top of the iTunes Rock chart for the week following its release. The song was also included in a promotional video for the upcoming third season of "In Plain Sight" of USA Network. The song was recently featured in the end of the 14th episode from the third season of "Gossip Girl" titled "The Lady Vanished."

"Apologize" is a song written by OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder for the Colorado band's 2007 debut album "Dreaming Out Loud". The remix of "Apologize" was produced and mixed by Timbaland (born March 10, 1971 in Virginia), and featured on Timbaland's studio debut album, "Timbaland Presents Shock Value". The song explores the personal pain of multiple relationships gone awry and the necessity of moving on.
The official video associated with the remix was filmed on today, and will release in early October. In this video, Timbaland is shown remixing the song while the camera circles OneRepublic as they perform. Other my favorite singles from OneRepublic are "Hearing Voices" and "Say All I Need".
