Florida pop outfit Hey Monday have released a new music video for the revamped version of their hit single "Candles" on Just Jared. The Florida natives, fronted by Cassadee Pope, find themselves in a bleak, casually haunted house, surrounded by 15 fire hazards' worth of candles, which signify that this is very much a torch song. It almost feels like the chapter that should follow Taylor Swift's "Back To December" video. You know -- houses, sadness, regret, melancholia. The new video revealed an all new arrangement and re-recorded vocals by lead singer Pope.
"Candles" is a title song from their sophomore EP, "Candles." The song has two versions. The first version was featured on the band's 2008 debut album, "Hold on Tight." The second version was recorded while they were making their first EP, "Beneath It All." It was also announced that the single would be released along with an acoustic version and a new song called "The One That Got Away." Pope explained the differences between the new and old version of the song. "As musicians and as people, we have grown so much in the last three years," she said. "I think the new 'Candles' really reflects that with its richer textures and more sophisticated arrangement. It's more uplifting now, as well, and translates really well live!"
Although fans have grown to love the original ballad, they will undoubtedly gravitate toward the updated version, which has been re-recorded and arranged with different instrumentation for a bolder sound. Pope's lyrics remain the same, yet in this version, she seems to sing her words with less heartache and more aplomb. Frontwoman says, "'Candles' has always been a precious song to all of us. It was our first ballad, and even more importantly, a very honest song lyrically. I went through a difficult break-up when I was 17 and this song was like my therapy session. Since we started playing it live 3 years ago, we've had different ideas to change it up and make it evolve. That's why I'm very excited about this new version. It's more organic sounding now. I was able to re-record the vocals and pretty much sing the song exactly like I do live."
Now the good news for American four-piece pop-punk band Hey Monday is that "Candles" will also be featured on tonight's episode of "Glee," which is, without a doubt, the TV show on which you want your music heard these days if you're looking to make a splash with the same kids who rush to iTunes the moment Lea Michele lets out a note. Of course, Pope couldn't be more excited for the pop ballad cover. "It is an honor to have our song covered by one of the biggest show on television," the 21-year-old tells JSYK exclusively. "I think 'Glee' is amazing -- it's a breath of fresh air and I especially admire a show that revolves around music. I can't wait to hear their rendition of 'Candles'!" Destiny Hope Miley Cyrus is ramping up the promotion for her forthcoming movie, "The Last Song" with the release of a new music video, "When I Look At You," is a big piano driven ballad. Playing around with a long delay on her vocals, the Disney star duets with herself quite nicely in this final official cut and new version of music video, will be released through ABC Family today to promote the new film. Unlike the previously-released video which highlights on her singing the tune, this new one gives more footage from movie, "The Last Song," directed by Julie Anne Robinson and based on Nicholas Sparks' best-selling novel of the same title, is scheduled to arrive in U.S. theaters on March 31, where the track serves as its theme song, and marks another step in Cyrus's evolution to adult roles. That 17-year-old sure is growing up fast.
The final cut features Cyrus sitting beside Australian actor and real-life boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth while playing grand piano. With movie footage to use, the production values are high, but also Cyrus's digging deep on this heartstring-tugging, piano-driven ballad clip. The power ballad single is also appears as the second single from Cyrus's first mini album "The Time of Our Lives [Walmart EP]" by Hollywood Records, and produced by Adam Shankman, the guest judge of "So You Think You Can Dance", along with Hillary Lindsey.
"'When I Look at You' was actually a song that was going to go on my next record," Cyrus said in a behind-the-scene clip of the video shoot. "We listened to it and went, 'Oh my gosh, this could not be more perfect.' It describes the entire movie." The movie is a story about family, first loves, second chances and the moments in life that lead you back home. Cyrus starring as a rebellious girl, who is sent to a Southern beach town for the summer to stay with her father. Through their mutual love of music, and a romantic hook up with Hemsworth's character slowly causes Cyrus to see things in a new light and she eventually reconnects with her father. The plot is similar to "Hannah Montana, The Movie" and obviously pitched at her tween audience, which is growing older along with her.
Reception of the song has thus far been positive, with Variety magazine's Lael Lowenstein calling it an "almost inevitable hit single," and Allmusic's Heather Phares noting that "When she lets her [...] ballad-singing diva come to the fore, Cyrus really shines. Melinda M. Thompson of The Oregonian believed that by playing the piano, Cyrus "showcased her many talents and proved she really just beginning to grasp her star power."Mikael Wood of The Los Angeles Times commented, "Once again, make-believe Miley was more compelling than the real thing."

Demetria "Demi" Lovato was born born August 20, 1992 in Texas. "Don't Forget" is the 3rd and final single released from her debut studio album of the same name. The moderate pop-rock song is Demi's best-performing song so far from album, and it's currently her highest performance on the chart to date.
The official music video (directed by Robert Hales) was shot in Griffith Park in LA. The video begins in a tour bus where Demi's band can be seen. She is then shown sitting next to a window, and precedes to sing the first few lines. As the song progresses, she walks in the rain holding an umbrella, where she continues to sing. Demi is then shown in front of a carousel, still holding her umbrella. When the song reaches the bridge, Demi and her band perform in the rain with the water changing colors in the background. As the last verse approaches she is shown back on the tour bus where the video began. When the song finishes a single tear rolls down her cheek.
I know Demi from the movie "Camp Rock" and also like her singles: "A Place In This World", "This Is Me" and "On The Line".

"Broken" is a song by post-grunge band Seether with Amy Lee of Evanescence. The original acoustic version is the 12th track on Seether's debut album "Disclaimer". It was then re-recorded with Amy Lee, the future girlfriend of Seether vocalist Shaun Morgan, for The Punisher: The Album in March 2004. This version includes electric guitar and violins.
The Nigel Dick-directed music video features Morgan sitting in an abandoned car playing an acoustic guitar with Lee appearing behind him as her vocals fade in. For the remainder of the video, Lee and Morgan wander through a dilapidated landscape that was revealed on the "Disclaimer II" DVD to be a real-life trailer park incinerated by a crystal meth lab explosion. Although there are shots of the band and Lee performing together in a clearing, the underlying theme of the video is Lee and Morgan searching for each other in this landscape and never finding each other. It's rumored that Amy Lee wears her black wings as an image of Morgan viewing her as an angel in his dreams.
