UK band The Vamps are "survivors" in the newly-premiered music video for "Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart)," the fifth single from their debut album "Meet the Vamps." On this track, The Vamps borrowed the chorus from Simon and Garfunkel's 1970 hit tune "Cecilia." Just like they did with their previous single "Somebody to You," which featured Demi Lovato on the official single edit, The Vamps have asked a US artist to feature on the single edit of "Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart)." This time it wasn't a popular artist like Lovato, but a Canadian newcomer: Shawn Mendes.
They have been tipped as the pretenders to One Direction's pop throne but The Vamps insist that they are completely different to the boy band. Although they admire their chart rivals and would love to emulate their success, lead singer James McVey insists there are very few similarities between the two groups. Speaking to MailOnline ahead of the exclusive premiere of their new video "Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart)," he said: "We don't really care about the comparisons but our music is very different. We play instruments and write. However, they are probably the most successful band in the world so we wouldn't say no to their success."
The video for "Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart)" was shot in Malaga by director Frank Borin and the band loved every minute of it. McVey said: "We shot it in Malaga and we'd never done a video abroad before and it's kind of like a desert island style thing and we're stranded on the island. We meet the natives and don't want to leave. They were quite long days but we loved it. The song has been the song on our songlist from day one so it's always been one of our favorites 'When we play it live, the fans love it and so we wanted it to be a single.'"
The clip has a "Survivor" theme. After being shipwrecked, The Vamps find themselves on a lonely tropical island and learn to fend for themselves. They build a place to live, search for water and food, and make a "Vamps Help" sign with palm tree leaves placed on the sand. While on a recon mission of the island, the British band is ambushed by a group of females who inhabited the island before them. They take them to their camp, and thankfully for our singing friends, the girls are peaceful and rather friendly. They hang out until one day a plane flies over the island and The Vamps have to chase it as it is their only chance of going back to civilization.

The Vamps unveiled the sun-drenched video to their newly vamped summer jam "Somebody To You," featuring Demi Lovato, the fourth single from the British pop rock band's debut album "Meet The Vamps," which hit no.2 on the U.K. chart back in April. If you need proof that The Vamps were ready for summer, look no further than their "Somebody to You" video! The UK quartet, as "acoustic-driven indie pop," revamped a new version of their single "Somebody to You" by adding former Disney starlet the mix, where Lovato adds vocals to the second verse and the chorus.
This powerful pop song, "Somebody To You," is upbeat, breezy and totally perfect for the warmer weather. As the boys sing about wanting to change their relationship status from contently single to crazy in love. "Look at me now, I'm falling / I can't even talk, still stuttering / This ground of mine keeps shaking," they reveal on the thumping track. Lovato nabs the second verse and sings, "I used to ride around / I didn't want to settle down." The two acts join forces on the final chorus, injecting the little love song that could with a lot more power and sweetness than before.
The English rockers head to California's sunny Malibu beach for the Emil Nava-directed summery clip and perform the sing-a-long pop-rock anthem on a makeshift stage in the sand. The guys soak up the sun, hanging around the beach when they spot a group of girls who catch their attention. The dreamy frontman Bradley Simpson totally falls for Laura Marano after spending time together by playing volleyball, kicking around the soccer ball, and flirting by the swimming pool before the song cuts to Lovato on the beach, as well.
As the sun goes down, the party heats up. The guys host an intimate ocean-front concert for an enthusiastic audience of dancing fans, leading them to clap their way through the chorus, which is where Lovato shows up to perform her guest vocals alongside of the guys. She clearly wasn't available on the same day, so her scenes are a little disjointed. The "Heart Attack" hitmaker just sits around and looks pretty before twirling in some fluttering curtains. A wild night out with The Vamps is just one big party judging by the party-themed music video for their latest single "Last Night," which sees the midland-based teenage four-piece band - Brad Simpson, James McVey, Connor Ball and Tristan Evans - manage to take the budget they're given and turn the soundstage into a makeshift mega dance private carnival party, where they ride a mechanical bull, smash a guitar-shaped piñata, ring-toss teddy bears for a pack of eager girls and enjoying some typical lads banter.
"Last Night" is the third single to be released by the British pop rock band following on two consecutive top five UK hits from their debut hit "Can We Dance," which peaked at No.2 and "Wild Heart," which soared to No.3 on the UK charts. All releases are expected to feature on their self-titled debut album, which is set to drop in April. The MTV Brand New For 2014 winners could well be pop's next big thing. They have been causing a stir everywhere they go, with legions of fans following their every move and causing pandemonium at every turn.
Thematically, there's not much difference between The Vamps' new single "Last Night" and Katy Perry's 2011 chart-topper "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)." Both involve crazy throw-downs that result in the attendees having a bit of convenient amnesia afterward, while nonetheless vowing to do it all again. The Brits were quick to explain that their latest video was their own idea and expressed their desire to bring guitars back to popular music. After all, what sets The Vamps apart is the fact that they play their own instruments.
The three-minute promo all starts off as a tame affair with The Vamps rocking out in a room with their guitars before they spot the "Mega Dance" and the party really kicks off with the boys rocking out in the middle of the theme park before being joined by a massive group of fans. It's not long before they're hanging out with pretty, young girls and shooting objects to win them teddy bears, swinging around on a bucking bronco, having a dancing competition and eventually stirring up enough courage to hop on the queasy roller-coaster whirlwind rides.
