It's sad but beautiful and displays Adele at her best – marking the perfect end to what has been in our eyes, a faultless album. "Someone Like You," is an actual thing of beauty, placing the listener in one of those moments where you feel you're in the presence of a future standard.
In keeping with the singer's subdued style and its vibe fits with the melancholy tune, the Jake Nava-directed clip is a somber, black-and-white affair, features Adele wandering the early morning streets, strolling alongside a river, gazing out over a river against a cloudy backdrop in Paris, and pining for her long-lost love. It's incredibly sad but also, in a lot of ways, beautiful and resolute." Nava explained, "The location evokes style and romance. And shooting early in the morning allows you to focus on Adele in this lonely and emotional space." It's not every day that someone as talented as Adele comes along, and her latest video is living proof of that!

Country music superstar Jason Aldean has just released the music video for "Tattoos on This Town," the fourth single to come off the 34-year-old Georgia native's fourth studio album, "My Kinda Party." Lyrically, the song is pretty standard for the country genre: Drag-racing pickup trucks, rope swings, scars - "real life stuff" Aldean tells us. The song is just alright, but its new accompanying video is downright beautiful and really enhances the track. It takes you on a heartbreaking journey of young love, pregnancy, war, and certainly leaves a lasting impression, tugging at the heartstrings with an unexpected, emotional twist.
The up-tempo soft country rock song is a nostalgic look at small-town life and love, in which a man expresses his desires of leaving something behind on his small town to let others know he and his girlfriend were here. The inspiration behind the lyrics came from simply reminiscing on younger years and faded memories left in one's mind. Comparing the song to many of his previous hits, this song runs parallel to our own tales of mischief, lost innocence and heartache.
Aldean told The Boot the song calls to mind his adolescence, when he had few cares or responsibilities. He said: "You're just out having fun, growing up wherever you grew up and doing all these things that helped shape you as an adult" However, you don't realize that your teenage years are going to be some of the best times of your life. "Then you get older," he said. "and look back and remember those times and what it's all about."
The Wes Edwards-directed clip portrays a young couple's love story, starting from their teenage years, fast-forwarding through marriage and settling down, all the way to the young man's leaving for war. Some time later, his wife is paid a visit by two Marines who inform her about the death of her husband. It then fast-forwards through the young widow's life, in which she attends her husband's funeral and also gives birth to a son. As the video ends, the son, now a young boy wearing his late father's old cap, throws a stone into the lake near the tree where his parents had carved "I Love You" many years before.

Death Cab for Cutie debut a rand new music video in support of their latest single "Stay Young, Go Dancing," is lifted from the San Francisco-based indie rock's latest seventh album "Codes and Keys," which contains within it one of the most cutesy offerings the band have ever crafted. The rockers take the track's title about as literally as possible and the new video would be equally as cheesy and romantic, is filled with romantic scenes about a long-lasting love.
This song features a string quartet called the Magik Magik orchestra. The frontman Ben Gibbard told Q magazine he wasn't concerned about falling in the pomp rock trap of needlessly using a string ensemble. He said: "Using orchestras and choirs for the sake of it is when it sounds really bloated. Look at "November Rain" by Guns N' Roses. There's no need for an orchestra to be on that song. It doesn't serve the music or make it better." Fans of beautiful indie-pop-melodies and violin sounds rejoice!
Jam! Music asked Gibbard how much of the love content on "Codes and Keys" was written about his new wife, actress and musician Zooey Deschanel? He replied: "There are moments on the new album - like 'Stay Young, Go Dancing' or the first verse of 'Monday Morning' - that are about my wife." The frontman added, "With all of these songs that I write, I want them to have as much universal appeal as possible and certainly don't feel like I want to undermine the complexity of the lyrics at times and make that happen."
In the Claire Carré-directed clip, they tell a flashback story about a love that never fades away by tracing the love journey of a couple from their old age to winsomely charming childhood as they progress through their relationship. The clip also features a whole lot of Gibbard playing guitar on a porch. "I liked the idea of moving backwards," Gibbard told Spinner. "In the beginning you see this couple who are in their 70s, and throughout the video they move through these corridors and become younger and younger and I think it's a rather touching way to show these two people."

Continuing her tradition of hit songs, Kelly Clarkson is back in action with a feisty video for her 'Just The Way You Are'-inspired mid-tempo pop cut "Mr. Know It All," the lead single from her upcoming album, "Stronger," which hits stores on October 24. Departure from her signature pop rock sound, "Mr. Know It All" has a distinct R&B flavor, sounds softer and more feminine as American Idol first winner sings. It showcasing the free-spirit side of American Idol first winner and a side to her vocals we haven't seen in a while.
The empowering song finds Clarkson warning her guy he might think he's got it all figured out, but "Baby, you don't know a thing about me." She told Entertainment Weekly: "It's everything I am as a woman and a singer. I love telling men off!" Clarkson described the break-up themed tune as the most different from any of her other singles because the message is not just about relationships. The singer added that though she has a list of people that have brought her down, the song is also about ignorant people who think they know everything about someone.
The Justin Francis-directed video for the song took place in Nashville. Clarkson explained that "The idea behind the video is variety. The whole point of the song that I like is 'you don't know a thing about me. I love that concept because it's ignorant to think you know everything about a person. There's many sides to everybody's personality. We're kind of doing a variety of different Kellys." It featured Clarkson sings in front of a "wall of doubt" in which covered with negative headlines from newspaper and magazine clippings about her.
Clarkson remarked it as "basically all the crap that's been said about me that's kind of funny or ridiculous. we're playing with that and it's how I handle it, kind of sarcastic and funny." Clarkson dressed in a long gown with feathers on her hair which represents freedom. The anti-rumor theme becomes crystal clear at the end of the clip, when the 29-year-old songstress tears the articles off the wall to reveal a road outside. The singer steps through the barrier of bad press with her suitcase, letting us know that her life would not suck without all the unwanted attention. And, just like the song itself - things become hopeful and upbeat for the First Lady Of American Idol once more.

Fall Out Boy frontman Patrick Stump released the music video for "This City," the lead single from his solo debut album, "Soul Punk," will hit US stores on October 18. Featuring his fellow Chicagoan rapper Lupe Fiasco, and the duo have made their statement on their home city of Chicago, it also sees snippets of the rocker wandering around a bustling metropolis. While the 'Superstar' rapper spits his verse in a hoodie, Stump dances around in a tuxedo as they sing praises of Chicago in video.
Stump not only lost a bunch of weight during the indefinite break of the rock band, but he also took that time to work on his much-desired solo debut. The 27-year-old is best-known as the main creative force behind '00s pop-punk standard-bearers Fall Out Boy, but the R&B and hip-hop influences that have long been part of his music come to the foreground on his upcoming album, "Soul Punk." "This City" is equal parts love letter to the Windy City and dance song, steered by Stump's high, slightly feminine melodic vocals, set against club beats, and Fiasco's hard hitting rap verse, upping the song's rhythmic quotient.
The catchy tune with full-on R&B mode and pop-synth explosion, is more soul than punk. Stump said the track's poppy slickness is representative of the album, "It sounds kind of like it makes sense on the radio but at the same time doesn't at all. It's very me." The song also caused Stump to change the course of the entire "Soul Punk" album. He explained to Billboard magazine: "I had written a while draft of the album and then at the 11th hour came up with 'This City.' I really loved the song but felt like, conceptually, it didn't fit on the album. I had to go back and make an album for that song because I loved it so much."
The Ken Koller-directed video is a decidedly minimal affair, and it features Stump singing whilst various images and lights are projected on the walls. Stump told to MTV News why instead of filling the screen of shots of city life he went with an artfully abstract way to present the song: "The song's called 'This City,' and it describes a lot of these images in a city, and I feel like those images are already there; it would be kind of redundant to take a camera into a city; it's almost like the colors and the lights and the images that are going to be around this are going to be representing the life in a city."

Emerging pop singer-songwriter Cady Groves has premiered the music video for her sassy single "This Little Girl," the first single off her upcoming debut major label release, which is due out in early 2012. The country star and 'The Voice' coach Blake Shelton makes an appearance as a tow truck driver in the video, as Groves getting revenge on a cheating boyfriend in all kinds of ways.
"Every girl is capable of murder if you hurt her. Watch out, you don't push me any further. You're not the only one walkin' 'round with a loaded gun. This little girl is capable of murder 'cause you hurt her," warns 21-year-old on her debut RCA Records single "This Little Girl." It's an upbeat, edgy pop jam that, aside from it brimming over with the Oklahoma-bred songstress' sass and bite, comes packed with solid production work by Kristian Lundin. It's no wonder that Groves has a way with words when writing about relationships.
"No other girl could sing these songs, because they're my life experiences," Groves says about the material she's recorded for her debut record. "That's what I wanted. The album reeks of heartache; it's about a girl just trying to figure out life." With enough lyrical vitriol to have Kelly Clarkson shining up her rifle and just the right kind of synth-pop pulsations in between the song's punchy production to set Ellie Goulding's heart a-flutter, this little girl is definitely capable of murder-not to mention a ridiculously promising career. Just don't stand in her way!
The up-and-coming singer shot her video in Los Angeles last month with famous director Nathan Cox. The frustrated Groves sets out to find evidence that her boyfriend is cheating. She catches him red-handed. Shelton is determined to get 'this little girl' off the street, but the singer is lying in wait in the shadows in the backseat of the car. "I was dating someone who I genuinely thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with," Groves explaining the back story for single. "He ended up having a whole separate life apart from me that I still can't even digest to this day." But as we know, revenge can sometimes be very, very sweet.

There's also a hilarious twist ending: sadly, she gets kicked out of the store, but we can't help but love her more than ever.

Never Shout Never have premiered the spacey video exclusively on AOL Music for "Time Travel," the title track from Pop-rockers's latest third full-length release, which has just dropped on Tuesday. The band's experimental, layered new album will also be the first release to feature a full permanent band, and it shows what follows is the sound of a fully realized, four-piece unit at their moment of self-discovery.
Popular one-man-band Never Shout Never was formed in Joplin, Missouri in 2007. After several releases as Christofer Drew's solo project, Never Shout Never recently made the transition from Drew's one-man-show to a full group, including longtime friends Caleb Denison, Taylor MacFee and Hayden Kaiser. The new album's tracks are more heartsick rather than the usual happy toned songs he's known for. The title track "Time Travel" with a lighter tone, explains how Drew tries to find his faith again. "Simplistic Trance-Like Getaway" describes getting away from all that's going on in the world.
The latest effort, "Time Travel," certainly sports a more experimental, layered rock sound than Drew's previous efforts, and it also has less ukulele sound to it unlike previous albums. Despite the differences between "Time Travel" and his earlier albums, fans are sure to love this album just as much as the others. Never Shout Never does not disappoint with his new work, and "Time Travel" has already made the Top 25 Sellers. The band self-produced their new LP, so it's no surprise that they had a hand in the production of the video for "Time Travel," too.
Never Shout Never's new video for "Time Travel" pays homage to its title with space-age lights, exploding fireworks, and white flashes reminiscent of stardust. There's also a pretty sweet fog machine as the video fades to close. Appropriately enough, the clip finds the guys rocking out in front of an illuminated time machine. "I wanted to make this album more of a little concept," Drew said. "I just wanted it to be different than anything that we've done; I wanted it to be a little more trippy. I've always thought that it would be awesome to travel through time. I watch a lot of the History Channel."

Simple Plan keep their music ever so simple and delightful has yet again released another video for their latest track "Astronaut," the second single comes from the Canadian pop punk band's latest gold-certified fourth studio album, "Get Your Heart On!," which has been released since June this year. The video was filmed somewhere in the desert of California, and features the punk-pop acts performing outer space with an Armageddon style Sci-Fi landscape, and a couple who tries to find love amidst it all.
The Montreal-based band Simple Plan just wrapped up a world tour through Asia, Europe and the U.S. promoting their latest record "Get Your Heart On." The Canadian pop punkers plans to pack a lot of music in a short U.S. tour beginning in Los Angeles during the last week of October and and continue through late November. The multi-platinum quintet will be accompanied by an all-star lineup of special guests, including Forever The Sickest Kids, The Cab, and Marianas Trench.
Montreal's shrewder Simple Plan, have matured, kept pace with the fast-moving times, and allowed their sound to expand accordingly. They has earned widespread acclaim and a global fan following for their genre-defying blend of classic punk energy and modern pop sonics. Entertainment Weekly commended Simple Plan for "augmenting their fidgety guitar assault with suburban reggae and club-friendly drum machines."
Simple Plan go to another planet in the Mark Staubach-directed clip, which is shot on the lines of a "boy chases girl & finds redemption" concept in a very Y2K fashion. Anyhow the message the band was trying to get across was quite evident by the quote at the beginning, "Being human is the most terrible loneliness in the universe," the clip continues to show the five piece band fronted by Pierre Bouvier provide a backsound for a lone astronaut who is in exploring an empty space. He keeps looking around and around for his soulmate, played by the actress/model Caitlin O'Connor, to fill a void in his heart. Bouvier called the video shoot an "organic experience."

If Jennifer Lopez wanted to make a post-breakup statement about her alluring charm, she sure succeeded with her first post-break-up music video "Papi," which debuted on Monday. The clip finds 42-year-old American Idol judge in the middle of love-struck street riot, where men throwing themselves at her, causing all kinds of chaos around her, but all she wants is her "Papi." How else to explain why People's Most Beautiful Person doesn't notice something funny is going on until she's half way through her humorous video.
Lopez was nice enough to remind the world of her impeccable acting skills by creating a short film to help promote her dance track "Papi," the third official single taken from her seventh studio album, "Love?" is a Latin and electro music-flavored, up-tempo dance-pop song, and the melody is driven by "beating" drums and "pounding" synths. After a long run of touring and recording Safetysuit have returned with their music video for their single "Get Around This," the striking first single off of their upcoming and yet-to-be titled sophomore album. The Nashville-based pop-rock band have crafted the kind of record that has a stadium-sized hook around every corner.

The teen pop duo Destinee & Paris recently released the fun and energetic music video for their debut catchy new tune, "True Love," a beach blanket romp which has already been proven to be a hit on YouTube gathering over 425,000 views. "It's all about the beach," Paris siad. "We are on the beach and we go into this dream and it's our version of a beach party. It's like in Madonna's video "Vogue," when you have all the different people doing different sorts of poses, and then you see us and we're on the sand and in front of this amazing background, it's awesome."

Produced by Rami, Carl Falk, and Swedish House Mafia's Steve Angello, "True Love" blends ambient-synth instrumentation with a crunchy, explosive singalong chorus - sounding, variously, like the best parts of Nicole Scherzinger's "Don't Hold Your Breath," Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream," and One Direction's incomparable "What Makes You Beautiful" wrapped up in one perfect little confection. "We're really excited about it," Paris said, "It's a fun song and I think a lot of people will be able to relate to it.

True to West's style, the video is simple and easy on both the ears and the eyes. Not to mention, the song showcases West's incredible songwriting skills and acoustic performance skills. So basically, he's like Robin Thicke all over again.

Evanescence are officially back, with a roaring new single called "What You Want," the first single from American rock band's upcoming, self-titled third studio, which recorded in Nashville and will be released on October 11. It's been nearly four years since Evanescence have released a single, and during that time, it appeared very likely they'd never release another.
The freedom-themed song was penned by frontwoman Amy Lee at her house in New York with bassist Tim McCord and guitarist Terry Balsamo. Lee had previously described the song as being "really different" from anything in the band's back catalog, and, as you can tell, she wasn't kidding. "What You Want" is most definitely a departure, quite possibly the heaviest song Evanescence have ever made. The guitars buzz like a hornet's nest, the drums are pounding and primal, and the strings swell and stab. Throw in a positively massive chorus and Lee's vocal pyrotechnics, and you've got a song that's powerful enough to shake rock radio to its very foundation. And that's pretty amazing, considering its simple roots.
As Lee said, it's not just the band's comeback single, it's also the beginning of a mission - one Evanescence are taking very seriously. Though it came from humble origins, "What You Want" deals with heady concepts, a trait that's readily apparent throughout Evanescence's new album. "It's about freedom - that's definitely a constant theme on the record - but, it's like Evanescence, and me, and my relationship with the music and the fans, and coming to that [realization] of 'This is what I'm supposed to do ... I want to do this,'" Lee said. "And when it says, 'Remember who you really are,' that's exactly everything you could assume it means."
They rock and make the crowd go crazy with an insane warehouse performance in Meiert Avis-directed new visual, filmed in Brooklyn, New York and is a biographical clip of the band from their early days to their reconvening after their hiatus. "This is more a personal video. We've done a lot in the past that were very 'fantasy,' and this is sort of the real us," Lee told MTV News. The heavy goth-rock head-banger video continually cuts Lee running through New York in a dark dress and makeup. The shot represented the band coming back in the world and heading into the unknown, coming into a new world.

Nearly two months after her shocking death on July 23, the final video and song recorded by late British soul revivalist Amy Winehouse dropped on Wednesday, her 28th birthday, and it shows off her overwhelming talent in fine form. The duet with jazz icon Tony Bennett on the standard "Body and Soul" video features the footage of her last recording session this March at the famed Abbey Road Studios in London.
The pop-jazz standard song, features the unlikely pair in a tender and often playful mood in the studio, will appear on Bennett's "Duets II" project, which is due out on next Tuesday, and Proceeds from the track's sales will go toward the Amy Winehouse Foundation, and the charity will benefit children. In the video she's clearly nervous, shuffling about but gazing admiringly at Bennett, and her voice is still a thing of wonder when it arrives for the second verse, the jazzy inflection pulling at the melody and working as the perfect counterpoint to Bennett's velvet croon.
In an interview with MTV, Bennettt said, "We had a beautiful time recording together in the studio, and I knew that Amy was very happy with how she performed that day, I thought she was absolutely brilliant." The jazz legend also praised Winehouse, saying she was "someone who knows how to intuitively improvise and make it believable and sing with humanity and soul and honesty, no compromising. Amy had that gift. She was the only one of all of the contemporary artists that I've met through the years. She's the only one that was able to do it."
The stripped-down clip opens with Bennett taking the lead as Winehouse looks on coquettishly, and then it's Winehouse's turn, as the singer known for her often shambolic live performances is seen on her best behavior. The video footage of the two singing together is bittersweet, with Winehouse looking healthy and alert, twirling her hair flirtatiously as she matches Bennett note for note on the standard. Throughout the clip, Winehouse flashes bedroom eyes at the 85-year-old crooner and patiently awaits her verses, with both singers reading their lines expertly off the sheet music. When the two vocalists embrace at the end, it's both heartwarming and bittersweet.

LeAnn Rimes has recently partnered with the charity organization called Stand Up For Kids in the promo of her new single "Give," the third single taken from her forthcoming 13th studio album "Lady and Gentlemen," out September 27. The Blue hit-maker is helping spread the word about the homeless problem among youngsters in America by including many of them in the promo for her new song "Give," and the video does well to advance that theme.
Penned by Rimes, the positive ballad about how giving leads to receiving. The talented vocalist wanted to create a video for the song that tied into its message of giving back. "My life is forever changed from this experience," shares Rimes in a note on her website. "One thing they all said to me is no one looks them in the eye when they see them on the streets, so there's a deep loneliness there and a feeling of almost not existing. I will now always look anyone who's homeless in the eye and smile. That smile could make their whole day."
Rimes is spending more time in the Windy City while her husband films a new TV show there, and while it's doubtful she'll frequent the kinds of gritty urban locales she visits in the video, she appears genuinely glad to be there. The kids seem happy she's there, too. The accompanying video shows teens participating from Chicago's Stand Up For Kids organization, whose mission it is to help homeless and street kids, and the 29-year-old musician admits the experience of working with them has changed her outlook on life.
The touching new video opens with the stark message "13 kids die on the street every day" and then shows the homeless teenagers recount their experiences living rough before another message informs viewers that "an estimated 25,000 kids are homeless in Chicago alone." The promo also features several teens sharing snippets of their harrowing life stories, and ends with the youngsters joining the country star in a swaying group sing-along the last few lines of the song and information about the work Stand Up For Kids does across the US.

Joe Jonas unveiled his new video on E! News for "Just In Love," the second single from his upcoming debut solo album "Fastlife," which is due in the U.S. on October 11, and the hotly passionate uptempo single will make digitally available today. The 22-year-old singer locks lips, soaks in a bathtub, and enjoys romantic outings with the girl he met in Paris.
"Just in Love" is a Latin-tinged dance track with a thumping beat behind a synthy sound that talks of a past love in Joe' life. Joe co-wrote the seductive song with James Fauntleroy, and it was produced by Rob Knox. "This is a song I wrote when I was going through a relationship with somebody," he explained. "She was arguing with me, and all I could do was say 'Listen, I love you, but we don't need to go through this,' So, this is called "Just in Love." The track has a lot of energy, with guitars and synths accentuating a powerful beat. Vocally, Joe sounds strong as he sings.
Filmed in Paris, Joe definitely proves that a certain French city is all about love, and in Jaci Judelson directed video, he meets a French girl during his trip in Paris. The sparks fly, and they embark on a romantic relationship in no time. The lovely-dovey couple can't keep their hands off of each other. They tour the city together and end up in Joe's bedroom. No purity rings are in sight as the 22-year-old heartthrob climbs into the bathtub with her, and as the pair trade pillow talk about him having to leave her.
"We shot it in Paris so naturally it's supposed to be passionate and romantic," the middle of three Jonas Brothers star told about the French model who is his leading lady on the clip. "She's really sweet," he said. "She lives in Paris. Her name's Angèle. Really great, really nice. We were really comfortable with each other on camera." The video is certainly a more mature one for the singer, and Joe's said that that was his intention.

Canadian pop rock band Hedley has premiered their official music video for new song "Invincible." Featuring hip hop artist P. Reign, "Invincible" is the first confirmed track from Hedley's upcoming untitled album that will be released later this year or early next year, and we can't wait to hear more from the guys.
Forming in Vancouver, naming themselves after the nearby community of Hedley, the four-piece rockers take their brand of melodic, celebratory rock and roll below the 49th parallel, with charismatic frontman Jacob Hoggard leading the tight-knit Vancouver-based group which also includes bassist Tom McDonald, guitarist Dave Rosin and drummer Chris Crippin. They have headed back into the studio to start working on the follow up to their hugely successful 2009 release "The Show Must Go," that refreshing mix of lighthearted candor and emotional honesty lies at the heart.
They may not be rocket surgeons, saving lives or saving the world, but Hedley is clearly making a contribution to the music scene. They continue to prove that mixing frivolity with thoughtfulness and showmanship with songcraft is the best formula for success. Hoggard says the blend of new sounds and honest lyrics with Hedley's trademark fun-loving attitude was crucial to the band's evolution. "Staying current has always been very important to us and growing with our fans as well," he says. "We don't want to alienate people with left-turns in our music, but we also don't want to stagnate. I need to challenge myself and change things up because I have the attention span of a goldfish."
In a very touchy side to band, the usual jokesters take on an inspirational video and hit the nail on the head. The video for "Invincible" is a video portraying emotional vignettes of everyday people in the midst of life's battles, such as a young outcast girl, concerned and lonely; a boxer dripping with sweat, tired, drained, defeated looking; a young man that looks like he's been on the losing end of a fight, face bruised and cut, standing with crutches; a gymnast with her shoulders hung low, her confidence shaken; and a domineering middle-aged man sits next to her with his hand on her upper leg. She looks terrified. Her body language and bruises tell us the unthinkable is happening.

Lady Antebellum have just debuted a music video filmed to support "We Owned the Night," the second single from Country trio's third studio album, "Own The Night." which hits stores on next Tuesday. They provide soundtrack for the lovey-dovey couples in the video. Once again, the country act serves up a pop-crossover jam that should appeal to a variety of listeners, and will no doubt find a home on an array of radio format playlists.
The love song is sung beautifully to accompany the romance which sparks everywhere with fireworks lighting up the night. Hillary Scott explained why they named the set after this tune: "One of our favorite songs on the new record is called 'We Owned the Night,' which is about a special once-in-a-lifetime moment, and we thought that naming the album around that same sentiment was really appropriate," she said. "It's also about the experience we want to create every night in concert for our fans... together, we own the night!"
Features Charles Kelley on the lead, and he sings over the mandolin-driven tune, "We Owned the Night" is a crunchy, rootsy, something that couldn't be said about any of the group's previous singles. It's a new style that's still familiar, but sexy in it's own way. The mid-tempo is inspired by dreams of one special night of passion. The poetic lyrics possess a relatable quality which will likely resonate with anyone who has loved someone from afar or only been able to spend one tender moment with someone when they longed for more.
Romantic sparks fly freely in video, which centers on a few young, cuddly and seemingly in love couples. Of course, those plot scenes are spliced with footage of Scott and her bandmates performing amidst all that amore, as fireworks burst in the night sky. Everyone is having a great time, since live music, reciprocated passion and sparks in the dark are all essential to the recipe for a good time. The video plays with the idea of the memory of the sparks that fly when you kiss someone for the first time or experience a taste of love in your formative years.

Avril Lavigne is typically a tough, punk rock chic who doesn't let anyone or anything get her down. But in her newly released video for "Wish You Were Here," my favorite singer let out her tears and shows her vulnerable side. Written by Lavigne along with producers Max Martin and Shellback, the jangling power ballad serve as the third and possibly last single from Canadian singer's latest CD "Goodbye Lullaby."
"Wish You Were Here" is one of the tracks where Lavigne actually manages to communicate some real sentiment. As the title implies, the mid-tempo ballad, which sings the story of missing a love, features Lavigne lamenting that her beloved isn't around. The 26-year-old explained that this is a song that talks about, "Missing somebody for a day, for a week, for a month. Somebody you've had a falling out with, there's so many different circumstances in life that we all go through when we do truly miss somebody."
The pop-punk princess is overcome with raw emotion as she wails about missing someone dearly and has no problem breaking down her tough-girl wall and letting the waterworks flow and her mascara run in the Marc Webb-directed clip. Lavigne expresses her dismay by rolling around on a dirty floor in what looks like an abandoned room, save a perfect Gerbera daisy, a bathtub and a lighter. It takes a minimalist approach as most of the shots include Lavigne crying, sitting in a bathtubs, and on one occasion setting a flower on fire.
The video begins with Lavigne lying on a wooden floor, surrounded by leaves. She rises, and begins to sing. Lavigne picks up a red flower and begins picking off the petals. She sets the flower on fire, and waves it in the air. As she continues singing, she starts to cry. Towards the bridge, Lavigne is shown lying in a bathtub. She submerges herself, then suddenly bursts out of the tub, as if having made a resolution. Lavigne gets out, and continues singing. It then fades out with her stepping towards the window.

Maintaining a low profile "Invisible" for a few years, Holly Brook Hafermann, better known by her stage name Skylar Grey returned to the public attention when she was a guest vocalist on a couple of hit singles, such as Dr Dre's "I Need a Doctor" and Diddy-Dirty Money's "Coming Home." She also received a Grammy nomination for writing the chorus to Eminem's hit single with Rihanna, "Love The Way You Lie." The 25-year-old just unveiled the dramatic Jay Martin-directed clip, which features the Women About To Pop-featured artist steps onto a steel beam suspended over a city street, walks into traffic and then ultimately sets herself ablaze with a lighter.
Grey feels "Invisible" in her new video, even as she goes to great lengths to be seen - the singer dangles from a construction beam hundreds of feet in the air and eventually lights herself on fire. "I wanted it to be Peter Parker by day meets Spiderman by night. An everyday kid, who isn't really that cool but there's something else going on, that people don't know about," Grey said in a statement while explaining "Invisible," which she wrote while living in the Oregon wilderness. "That's kind of the journey that I went on. I discovered that my insecurities and my flaws were things that I actually need to embrace, and I let them become my superpowers."
"Invisible" is the first single and title track from her major-label debut album, under her Skylar Grey moniker. The song finds her crooning about being unnoticed and ignored. The album's title is a portmanteau of "invisible" and "invincible", an idea that was given to her by her influence Marilyn Manson. Grey has said that the album is to be a complete departure from any of her previous work, and its sound is commercial, yet avant-garde with cinematic beats and atmospheric hooks, and sonically I can tell you that every song sounds different and it's really diverse, kind of going from cinematic to fun to dark. Alex(Producer) and I really push each other creatively."
Grey told Billboard magazine why she chose to release this vulnerable track as the lead single from her "Invinsible" album. "It's the very beginning of the story that I'm telling on this album, so chronologically, it makes sense to release that part of my story first" she explained. "I was depressed and broke and had nobody around and was feeling invisible to the world. That's what that song's about, that very first step… and so, within the album, you go on that journey of how I became invincible, and I think it's gonna be a story that a lot of people can relate to."

The Broadway star and Country newcomer Kristin Chenoweth is returning to her Oklahoma roots with a low-budget music video for "Lessons Learned," the title track from her first country album "Some Lessons Learned," due next Tuesday, is comprised of 13 songs that cast the pint-sized blonde into a musical genre that makes perfect sense for her signature high pitch voice, which flows through different country factions effortlessly.
Consider it one of the lessons she's learned, the new track may sound a tad familiar since it was included on Carrie Underwood's debut album, "Some Hearts." The 43-year-old star delivers everything she has on the cover rendition. It's about what we learn and how we learn and what we do with it. The Tony and Emmy award winning star is crooning about "some pages turned, some bridges burned, but there were lessons learned."
Throughout the soulful new video, her country-inflected performance of Diane Warren-penned ballad is blended with video footage in fields much like the ones near her hometown of Broken Arrow. Back in the recording studio, it's obvious that Chenoweth isn't ready to be chalked up as a passing train. She gives "Lessons Learned" all of the power and conviction you'd expect from someone who really had to be taught a thing or two. If there's one thing she has going for her, it's that she knows not to waste any time when it comes to getting country music to country fans.
Speaking of her album, Chenoweth says this record offers both the "good and frustrating, hard and wonderful" teachable moments she's had. "Look at my recording career and it's kind of funny. It's all so different!" says Chenoweth. "This album is more along the lines of what I grew up singing, like the music I sang in church in Oklahoma. When I was hired at nineteen to sing at Opryland in Nashville, that's what I wanted to do. I never anticipated my career going in all these great directions — which I'm grateful for! I'm finally getting to do what I want."

Canadian Pop punk band Marianas Trench have recently released a music video for "Haven't Had Enough," the first single off of their upcoming album, "Ever After," which is expected to be released sometime in early fall, and according to bassist Mike Ayley says is a preview of the theme of the band's new album, and it's this dark fairy tale Tim Burton kind of story. TheMagazine.ca called the song "somewhat different from their previous material, though it still has the 'Marianas Trench feel'."
Marianas Trench have yet to crack the worldwide or U.S. markets, but their music pops like few other bands' thanks to their combination of a pop-punk lyrical aesthetic, dance-rock synths and beats, a theatrical sensibility complete with searing charismatic vocals, and songwriting that exhibits a talent for knowing exactly how to keep the listener's attention. Their last full length release, "Masterpiece Theatre" caught much attention.
"Haven't Had Enough" tempers the rock guitars of "Masterpiece Theatre" in favor of a cross between Maroon 5 and Foxy Shazam. The lyrics speak of a couple who "got the start wrong;" despite this, the narrator insists that "you haven't had enough," and that "you must admit you want it" again. The song is circular in nature, beginning negatively and ending positively. You can almost hear lead singer Josh Ramsay wrongly convincing himself of this fact as he rips through the song and it's entrancing. This is pop music that pops.
The video for track tells the story of a guy chasing his love through time, and nothing will stop him, not pirates, pharaohs, or zombies! "Haven't Had Enough" was filmed in Vancouver and dressed in various costumes to be extras in the video. Ramsay is trapped in a magically evil toy world ruled by a Wicked Princess, populated by her life-sized toy-like minions and he just doesn't know it yet until the end, when it's too late and she manages to turn him into one of her life-size toys as well.

The X Factor is back, last year's winner Matt Cardle has premiered his new single "Run For Your Life" and given us the video at the same time. The X Factor winner secured overnight success last December after his debut song rocketed to No.1 follow his triumph on the reality show. The new track had its first radio play yesterday, is the second single and the first single from Cardle's debut 13-track LP, "Letters," which is set to be released on October 17.
There is no-frills, no silly backing dancers and just his amaze-balls voice, the emotional and powerful ballad is the only track Cardle did not co-write for his debut album. It was penned by new X Factor judge Gary Barlow, so it's no surprise to discover it's a crooning ballard with uplifting lyrics about starting afresh and going on a journey to find a new love interest. Cardle told The Sun: "I'd been trying to write a song like that for a long, long time, probably five or six years. As soon as I heard it I just felt the song was mine. Lyrically it's about not being good enough for the person you're with. I know exactly what that's like. I was nearly in tears recording the vocals."
The 28-year-old sings his heart out, telling the girl of his dreams to flee from her painful past and start fresh with him in the new promo, which features he staring all doe-eyed into the camera and crooning meaningfully about being deserving of more in love and stuff in front of footage of a pretty redhead running away on a screen behind him. He convinces his object of affection to wipe away the tears and move on with him.
In the video, Cardle is dressed in a very ordinary pair of jeans and shirt that look as though they may be left over from his painter and decorator days. As he powers out the song, telling a redhead to 'run for her life' from a doomed relationship, she is then seen darting through various backdrops. The boho beauty is projected on an enormous screen pacing through a forest and later frolicking on a beach in a monokini. But lonely Cardle cannot reach her as he is singing in real time and she is only a vision. However, their fairytale ending comes true at the end and she steps out of the screen and embraces him.

Canadian synthpop outfit LIGHTS is officially back with a brand new video for her little synth number "Toes," the lead single off her upcoming sophomore album "Siberia," due out October 4th. LIGHTS is shown playing with her band in a brightly lit room. She then gets out of a taxi and goes to a skate park and a subway. Afterwards LIGHTS goes back to the brightly lit room to play with her band. The video ends with a shot of LIGHTS walking away on a sidewalk.
LIGHTS very often does both with her pure power sugar emo-pop. If you're familiar with her, this makes perfect sense; the track's like Sophie Ellis-Bextor's "Starlight" set slightly lower in the atmosphere. If you're not, just think pretty, sparkly synthpop as light as its vocals. The gorgeous little synth number is a lot more mainstream-friendly with electronic, 80's-era production and poetic lyrics about trying to decipher an elusive love interest. LIGHTS leaves her voice unfiltered and natural in "Toes," singing with a sweetly coquettish delivery that really brings the charming lyrics to life.
A career trajectory that goes from "Owl City pal and Myspace keyboardist" to "featuring Holy Fuck and Shad" is a career trajectory that would be impossible to guess had Canadian artist LIGHTS not done it with promotional single "Everybody Breaks a Glass," While that fuzzy quasi-experimental song was heavier and darker than what we've seen from LIGHTS before, "Toes" is a bit more like the rest of her work, and serves a more familiar sound reminiscent of her debut album "The Listening."
LIGHTS, a 24-year-old fairly small-sized Canadian girl who makes intergalactic-electro music, is prepping for her second album and has started to release new material, going a little harder and in a different tone in her synths. In her debut and acoustic albums, LIGHTS has proven that she is an artist to be reckoned. She is still upbeat and makes you want to dance, but has added an edge to her music that was never there before. Her latest, "Toes," is a sweet love song that has an unescapable hook and infectious bouncey feeling.

Australian band Boy & Bear has premiered their new video for "Feeding Line," the lead single off of their full-length debut album "Moonfire." The band has a nice polished sound with a folk/indie rock vibe and this shining favorite track contains a beautiful set of guitar rhythms and harmonious vocals, that help keep a very true essence of folk-ness in this rising indie rock band. And with its recording leading back to Nashville, Tennessee, this is no wonder.
A natural progression from their stripped back, folksy roots, "Feeding Line" oozes with driving beats and soaring melodies. Facing the prospect of redundancy as the music industry shuffles towards a shuffling-induced torpor, the Sydney five-piece's confident take on the folk rock movement, and have responded with a hearteningly traditional move. Rather than prostitute their ethos to the fickle popular imagination, frontman Dave Hosking and his mates have gone and penned yet another solid track in "Feeding Line."
"Feeding Line" sees the boys take a new lyrical tack, exploring first-person narration to surprisingly successful effect. Storytelling is almost inevitably easier when you don't have to engage in the sorts of strenuous introspection that personal narratives demand. As a single it doesn't necessarily have the same instantly identifiable choral riff that made their earlier work alternative cool and mainstream embraced at once but it is in sacrificing perhaps the more populist elements of folk, the easy drum beat, the compulsive whistling, the banjo that "Feeding Line" really represents a step forward for the band.
With their own take on indie-folk and impeccable harmonies. Their film clips are always original, and manage to stir nostalgic feelings in the viewer. The new video for "Feeding Line" doesn't let this reputation down. Set across the countryside in corn fields, forests and snow-covered plains, the video follows an apparent love story, is a scenic escape to the past with all the folks taking place in what feels like Colonial times. The characters are decked out in period costumes which just add to the charming nature of the clip.
