Daughtry have just unleashed a music video for their latest single "Outta My Head," the third single off of the Multi-platinum rock band's critically acclaimed third album, "Break The Spell," and the follow-up to the album's previous chart-climbing hits "Crawling Back To You" and "Renegade." The single was debut on TV show during the March 15 episode of Fox's American Idol.
The band's frontman Chris Daughtry wrote the song with frequent Aerosmith collaborator Marti Frederiksen, who has worked with the band since the mid-1990s. "He started playing the riff for 'Outta My Head' and it kind of had a 'Rag Doll' riff," the former "Idol" recalled "Melodically, it's not my style to do what Steven Tyler does, it's more what David Coverdale would do, so the verses have this Whitesnake feel. Lyrically, I wanted to go someplace sexier than Daughtry has gone before."
Daughtry's latest album "Break The Spell," which was certified gold within four weeks of its release, builds on the band's reputation for melodic hooks and anthemic choruses while providing a powerful showcase for Chris's emotionally resonant voice. No good deed goes unpunished. That almost seems to be the moral of the video for Daughtry's new single "Outta My Head." The video's plot has almost as many twists and turns as the chase scene, which finds Chris pursuing a beautiful young woman all over town.
Directed by Shane C. Drake, the newly-unveiled clip opens with Chris making some intense 'eye contact' with a fine-looking lady while sitting at an outdoor terrace on a café in Los Angeles. Abruptly, the mysterious, yet sexy girl takes off, forcing Chris to go after her, chases her down the street, and goes to extremes to catch the girl he just can't seem to get out of his head. He dodging many obstacles and hops in a fan's fancy blue Mustang to continue his hunt for the elusive beauty. How it all ends? Watch below!
