Following a short snippet earlier this week, UK pop singer Alesha Dixon has unveiled the music video for her brand new single "Every Little Part Of Me" in full. The Strictly judge has roped in fellow UK urban R&B star Jay Sean as guest vocals in her corner. The video did keep us watching, wondering what would happen next as they are about to run away and live happily ever after.
Follows up her last effort "Radio," the catchy track, "Every Little Part of Me," marks the third official cut from her latest third studio album "The Entertainer." "Every Little Part Of Me" has hit potential for the Strictly come Dancing judge. It's clearly the most radio-friendly song on the CD, but the official release date for the track has yet to be announced.
I liked the "partners in crime" concept, the clip, which was shot in Miami last month, during which Alesha spared time between her tight working schedule by enjoying winter sun on the beach. The video is stylistically shot with a shaky lens that makes it a bit less relaxing. The duo play a couple who are seemingly on the wrong side of the law, and get busted in a parking lot before being caught by the police. The promo ends on a rather optimistic note with cliffhanger suggesting there will be continuation to this sad-ending story.
It's been a difficult few months for Pop trier Alesha. In spite of a huge budget for her "The Entertainer" LP, the album could only manage a #84 debut on the Official UK Albums Chart, with its preceding and proceeding singles faring only mildly better. Talking about the overall feel of the album, the 32-year-old once said, "This record is more uptempo than the last. It's definitely a club record, a dancefloor album. I like to inject energy onto the audience when I perform and this album allows me to do that." The sexy video is a good one and it's definitely worth watching. However, it does not match the great quality of the track, but it's still a good look for the singers!

British Pop/R&B singer Jay Sean is back with another global smash and teams up with his Cash Money label-mate, hip-hop icon Nicki Minaj with his brand new video for "2012 (It Ain't The End)" to party like it's the end of the world. The clip was directed by Erik White and the new track rallies listeners with its peppy party vibe and stands as the lead single from Sean's upcoming fourth studio album, "Freeze Time," which is tentatively slated for a November 2 release date.
For 29-year-old singer, his new party-oriented track, "2012" is not about enjoying life two years from now but rather living it up in 2010 after checking out the sci-fi flick "2012." It's an energetic R&B, dance-pop track that re-imagines the apocalypse into a celebration of life and love. The pop crooner said he wanted the track takes fans inside what would undoubtedly be the world's greatest party... its last.
Sean explained why it's called "2012 (It Ain't the End)" that "It ain't the end of your day, it ain't the end of the world. It ain't the end of anything. It ain't the end of your relationship. If things are going bad, you can always fix it. That's what the whole point of this song [is], to just enjoy the moments." Sean made sure the upbeat message of the song is clearly reflected in the accompanying video, which is basically all about throwing the biggest party, celebrating life, and going around the world, from London to Tokyo to New York, seeing people celebrating good times."
Sean is notable for being one of the first British-Asian crossover stars and also for his international popularity. Born and raised in London, England and of Indian/Punjabi heritage, Sean started rapping at 11 and credits rap with helping him structure, produce and write songs. Amazingly, at the same time he was exploring his artistic side, Sean was at med school; surely a steadier profession than 'pop-star.' Luckily Sean's parents had his back. He eventually switched to R&B music, in part because of his Indian heritage, which made it difficult for him to break into the British rap scene. When it comes to the business of being a singer there are artists, there are stars and there are phenomenons. Sean is all of the above. The proof is in the press, the sales, the fans and above all, the music.

Indian-origin British artist Jay Sean (aka Kamaljit Singh Jhooti) was totally up last night after making the American charts his own with his debut single "Down" featuring hip-hop star Lil Wayne. The 28-year-old shot ahead of artists like Miley Cyrus, Rihanna and Kanye West on the Billboard, which lists the most popular songs in the US.
The newcomer little-known Hounslow-born R&B star has finally ended the Black Eyed Peas' amazing record-breaking half-year run atop with 'Boom Boom Pow'(12 weeks) and 'I Gotta Feeling'(14 weeks), for the top spot of the Billboard Hot 100 with the single "Down" featuring his labelmate Lil Wayne. The track sold over 1.5m downloads to get to the top. This also made Jay Sean the first male UK Urban artist to have a US No.1 since Coldplay's "Viva La Vida" in 2008. The artist is just landed in LA from London, and said: "This is insane. It's just incredible to go straight in with my first US release. It's difficult for me to put into words. My head is spinning. I've been grinding hard for the last seven years independently and now to have the biggest record in the US this week, its just a dream come true. All the radio people are asking, 'Dude, where did you come from?' But who cares? I love all this." Sean is set to release "Down" in the UK on October 26.
The British R&B artist who dropped out of medical school to pursue a career in music, signed to the UK's Virgin Records in 2003, his first album in 2004, "Me Against Myself", became a huge success in India, but was dropped after three singles. He then set up his own label, Jayded, releasing second album "My Own Way" in 2008. Then US label Cash Money Records signed him and Jay has been promoting the CD Stateside since this summer. The American-debut hit single "Down" is from his forthcoming album "All or Nothing", set for release November 24. It's a pleasant little ditty, a Chris Brown-like midtempo jam with a not-embarrassing supporting rap from prodigal chart hero Lil Wayne.
