The music video premiere for track, "Unusual Way," introducing new Geffen Records artist Griffith Frank, has been serviced as a focus track for various promotional tie-ins. 21-year-old sensation Frank will offer his soulful take on "Unusual Way," the soundtrack from Rob Marshall's new film adaptation of the 7-Time Tony Award-winning Broadway musical "Nine."
Frank is an artist with a unique voice that reconnects people to their feelings. Born in NYC raised in California, He has studied and perfected the art of music. With a three octave vocal range, he can sing pop, rock, and semi classical material. Frank has been nominated for, and won many prestigious vocal competitions and scholarships, including the LA Music Center Spotlight Awards and the National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts. Aged at just 21, Frank struck a record deal with major label Geffen. Ron Fair, Chairman of Geffen records, signed Frank as a solo recording artist after hearing just one song! Frank is currently in the studio working on his first solo material due for release in early 2010.
Frank states on his MySpace blogs that "Talk about ridiculously exciting. Basically while we have been reinventing my album, I landed a song on the soundtrack of the movie musical Nine!!! Its actually from the musical itself; its called "Unusual Way"... We shot a music video for the new song I did from Nine; "Unusual Way". It looks so awesome and working with the director Petro was amazing..."
The vibrant and provocative musical production and an early Oscar favorite, "Nine" features the all-star cast hits theaters on December 18 with exclusive engagements in New York and Los Angeles, followed by a nationwide release on Christmas Day. "Nine" was written for the screen by Michael Tolkin and Anthony Minghella. The movie is based on the original stage play, book by Arthur Kopit, with music and lyrics by composer Maury Yeston. The film follows the life of world famous film director Guido Contini struggles to find harmony in his professional and personal lives, as he engages in dramatic relationships with his wife, his mistress, his muse, his agent, and his mother.
Frank does a fantastic job of keeping the song intense and smooth. James and Kidman are no match in their rendition. I love how Frank transitions in that one place at the beginning without taking a breath.
