It's been three years since their last album, "Here and Now," the Canadian rock band Nickelback are back in action, and just unveiled a protest-heavy new music video to their latest politically-themed single, "Edge of a Revolution," the lead single from their upcoming eighth studio album, "No Fixed Address," due out on November 4th under Nickelback's new label, Republic Records.
The rising rock radio track was described as a departure from Nickelback's original sound and it's more like a song with a political protest message that's not been part of their hit catalog to date. Nickelback have found their "anti-system" calling just like Green Day found theirs years ago in the “American Idiot” era. In the interview, the frontman Chad Kroeger stated the song touches upon "fat cats on Wall Street" and was inspired by current events such as the war in Ukraine and how the government has been treating their citizens.
Directed by ace song video director Wayne Isham - who has directed song videos for artistes like Bon Jovi, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, KISS, Roxette and Britney Spears - the "Edge of a Revolution” visual stays true to the song lyrics and features footage from cultural and political protests like Egypt's Arab Spring and the Occupy movement, along with Kroeger and the rest of band members performing and chanting rebellious before a dark and crowd classroom full of young kids at a school class where they'll teach them to doubt the current system and fight for their own beliefs and not what society tells them to do that they ultimately decide to reject in favor of much-needed change as they pushing over classroom furniture and scattering papers in the air chanting "we want change!" As the rock band preach their speech to the sat-down younglings, footage of wars, arresting scenes of soldiers, riot police, demonstrations, and repression acts will be displayed on the wall behind them.

Canadian rock heavyweights Nickelback return to tug at your heart strings with their melodramatic new music video for their ballad song "Lullaby," the third single from the Canadian rock band's latest 7th studio album, "Here and Now," noticing that the song was the second most charted single off the album so far, just behind the lead single. This is a tear-jerker of a video but some people like to have their tears jerked.
This sweet tempered Country-tinged ballad was penned by Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger with Nashville songwriters Chris Tomkins, Craig Wiseman and Rodney Clawson. The pop-flavored song is a tribute to the boyfriend of Chad and Mike Kroeger's babysitter, who died in a motorcycle accident. The new cinematic video shows a dad learning to connect with his baby after the mother dies in childbirth - its sad but uplifting at the same time.
Shot in a factory in California, the clip was directed by long-time friend Nigel Dick, who's worked with the band on eight previous clips as well as their live video, "Live at Home." When things go wrong during the delivery, the father is tasked with raising the child alone. Clearly overwhelmed by parenthood, the father briefly considers adoption before he decides to "Just give it one more try / to lullaby," as the song's uplifting message conveys.
The video is a dramatic look at life and death, despair and hope. From the outset, Nickelback's contribution to the story is minimal, the band positioned in a separate scene, a warehouse lit under glittering flood lights. In clip, you see the story of a young couple expecting their first child cut together with shots of the band playing. It even showcases Chad Kroeger doing the "straight talk pose" - where you turn your chair around to convey the seriousness of the topic at hand.

Canadian rock band Nickelback have premiered the official music video for "When We Stand Together," the lead single from their upcoming seventh studio album "Here and Now," in stores on November 21. The follow-up to 2008's multi-platinum effort "Dark Horse," was recorded in Mountain View Studios in Vancouver and saw the band themselves acting as producers. Directed by Justin Francis, the hairy rockers' new video finds them rockin' out in a field, and made its debut on Big Morning Buzz Live on VH1 channel.
Thanks to their omnipresent No.1 song, "How You Remind Me," Nickelback became the leader of the post-grunge generation in 2001, carrying a heavy tendency towards straight-ahead, hard rock. Now, a decade later, we know that while Nickelback can be raw and raunchy, there's also an unpredictably sentimental slant in frontman Chad Kroeger and the band's music, and it ranges from heart-pouring power ballads to songs about poverty and helping the greater good. "When We Stand Together," falls into the latter category, as it strives to raise awareness about world poverty and war.
The Nickelback quartet's new pop song shows a lighter, more emotional side of the band. With swelling, warm guitars, it sounds touching and tugs at the heart strings. After a catchy blend of drums, guitars and keys starts off the ballad, Kroeger's gruff vocals step in, pleading, "One more depending on a prayer, and we all look away, people pretending everywhere, it's just another day. There's bullets flying through the air, and they still carry one. We watch it happen over there, and then just turn it off." Apparently, Nickelback address the problems of the world in "When We Stand Together."
Fitting for a song that finds Nickelback's emotional breadth opening up, the guys experiment with some new flourishes here, adding in pianos and keyboards. They also sound a bit lighter than usual, bringing some relief from the heavy guitars upon which Nickelback were built. All of this makes for a more varied Nickelback song. Despite its somewhat gloomy subject matter, the song is very upbeat musically, with more beats per minute than the typical Nickelback song. Foot-stomping drums and a lively acoustic guitar give the song a definite kick as Kroeger sings about public indifference to societal ills.

"This Afternoon," a summer party anthem song, the lead vocals Chad Kroeger sings about a carefree life, boozing and lighting up with friends. The track is the eighth single from band's 2008 'Mutt' Lange-produced and critically acclaimed sixth studio album "Dark Horse." The song is an upbeat country rock song reminiscent of "Rockstar". The bass guitar Mike Kroeger commented on the influence of country music on this tune: "It's a big-time part of our background, that whole laid-back, barroom kind of feel. Where we grew up everybody listened to Country."
A Music video for the song has been confirmed and according to Roadrunner, "Get ready to see the band like you have never seen them before." During the build up to the video, Roadrunner Records have been running daily screenshots of the video as teasers. The pictures have included many young women at what seems to be a party. It suggests an extremely feel good atmospheric video which features the band playing on a propped up stage above the festivities. To say the video will bring a happy laid back feel is an understatement, reflecting perfectly what the song is all about, living the life of a normal, working class person, having the best times with friends, however having little or no money and struggling to pay the rent on accommodation. The video certainly looks like encapsulating that whole feel good nature that the song does so well. "We never take anything for granted," says Chad Kroeger. But this is one band that certainly could.

Grammy-nominated, mega-platinum rock powerhouse Nickelback released their new video "Never Gonna Be Alone" on the Road Runner Records Twitter page Wednesday, and world premiered on Youtube. "Never Gonna Be Alone" is the sixth overall single by Canadian rock stars from their sixth multi-platinum studio album, "Dark Horse," produced by the legendary Mutt Lange and released on September 29. The song is a power ballad and featured on the soundtrack of the Brazilian soap opera: "Caminho das Indias." Canadian rockers have changed from a grunge-tinted metal band to a more melodically accessible pop-metal band. The die-hard traditional hard rockers may not be impressed with the band's more commercial direction, but new fans have been buying their latest CD, "Dark Horse," in droves.
The music video was directed by veteran producer and longtime Nickelback friend Nigel Dick and it tells an extremely sad story of a young woman who has lost her father. The video opens with the young woman in a limousine being taken to her wedding. She is holding a fake blue flower with her bouquet. As she walks down the aisle, she looks back at her mother and father, who are smiling proudly. The scene then cuts back to the woman's high school graduation, where her father is again smiling and clapping for her as she receives her diploma. The video flashes back three more times, the first with the girl's father seeing her off to her prom and the second with him teaching her how to ride a bike. The final flashback shows the father's funeral, the young woman being just a little girl. She is holding two fake flowers in her hand, one yellow and one blue. She tosses the yellow one into her father's grave. The events in the flashbacks are shown again from a different perspective, each time the girl looks up at her father and sees him disappear in a shimmer of light. Back at the wedding, the woman is still looking back, seeing her father's ghost surrounded in light. She realizes that he has still been there for her all along, even in death. The woman places the blue flower in her new husband's breast pocket, and the two wed. As they are leaving the church, the video cuts to her father once more, smiling proudly. He disappears for the final time, his daughter now fully grown up. The video is intercut with scenes of the band playing in a room with a large, light-filled backdrop.
Meanwhile Nickelback's new single "Burn It To The Ground" by Papa Roach has been chosen as the new theme song to WWE Monday Night RAW. The favorite band will also be spending November down under as they tour Australia, and will return stateside and pick up their US tour in San Antonio, Texas with holiday shows through Midwest. Breaking Benjamin and Sick Puppies will be their guests.
