BRIT Award-winning British singer-songwriter James Morrison has just released a music video to support his new single "I Won't Let You Go." The song made its debut on BBC Radio 1 Thursday morning, August 4, and will be released on September 19. lyrically the song is about letting a lover know that no matter what, highlighted via her chorus "if your sky is burning, take my hand and hold it, you don't have to be alone, I won't let you go."Morrison wrote this mid tempo ballad about Gill, his long term girlfriend and the mother of his daughter, Elsie. The song was released as the lead single from the singer-songwriter's upcoming third album "The Awakening," is due to release on September 26. Talking about the title of next studio installment, Morrison once said, "I want to write about this idea of an awakening of some kind. I've written a song with that title, which I'm really happy with. There's some funky digeridoo going on."
The 26-year-old continued: "Working with producer Bernard Butler on this album has brought a whole new dimension to the songs. For me this album combines influences stemming from my deep love for classic soul. Making the album coincided with some very big changes in my life and I think it’s very evident from the music that this is the album I not only wanted to make but that I actually had to make right now."
The video was shot at Wimbledon Studios, and directed by Phil Griffin. In the clip, the Husky Brit-crooner wakes up to an empty bed, while somewhere in the city, his loved one is lying alone in the middle of the street. When he runs into her, he quickly offers his comfort. The "Broken Strings" crooner lies beside the woman he loves, holds her hands, and promises to stay by her side no matter what happens.
