The Latin pop singer Shakira has just officially world premiered her new music video on her official Facebook page for the "Give It Up To Me" song, which is the second US single (third worldwide) from her upcoming third English studio album "She Wolf," expected to hit US stores on November 23.
The latest single "Give It Up To Me" with electro-pop and dance elements as well as a catchy chorus features American rapper Lil Wayne and was produced by hip-hop producer Timbaland, who first premiered the song on Ryan Seacrest's radio show on October 15. The song actually was recorded for Timbaland's upcoming album "Shock Value 2". But, it ends up as one of the materials in Shakira's effort "She Wolf." The track has peaked at #30 on the US Billboard Pop Songs charts, and has peaked at #32 on the US ARC Weekly Top 40 charts. Be sure to listen to the new single on AOL Radio's Fresh 40 station.
People Magazine gave an exclusive first look of the video directed by Sophie Muller on November 13, and Shakira was joined onstage by hip hop dancers, and it became clear that she had indeed found some "new moves," as she has hinted at in interviews about the forthcoming record, as well as body percussion. The Latin songstress trades her signature hip-shaking for a hip-hop vibe. Applying Jamaican dancehall footwork, traditional Thai dancing and a technique called "stepping," which mixes the footsteps and handclasp of African American fraternity and sorority culture, the "She Wolf" singer turns up the heat again.
The hips don't lie! Shakira's gone "Single Ladies" in her brand-new "Give It Up to Me" video, which finds everyone's favorite practitioner of midsection manipulation showing more than a few Beyonceisms, but, given that Shakira's involved, it's anything but straightforward, which, of course, means I love it. Shakira really is a true original? as she says, the hips don't lie.
